Today we visited the beautiful castle that dominates the wild and windswept Northumbrian coastline. From the castle we could see the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Longstone Lighthouse and the Farne Islands. Looking inside we were just as amazed by the Great Hall with its roof timbers of golden teak and we heard stories of long ago when Henry 6th made a dramatic escape from the keep through the well. Hundreds of years later a small boy entered the castle through a secret tunnel and came UP through the well! Lord Armstrong was so surprised he invited the boy for tea! He then gave the order to seal the well!
We had a lovely walk down to Bamburgh Castle from the hotel.
In the ‘Great Hall’ children used the ceiling mirrors to view the amazing carpentry work carved by the Tyne Boat Shipyard.
I loved the castle but it wasn't my favourite bit though. From Draven.
Trust you Ellie to be looking in the mirror. Only kidding looks like your having a good time.Mum xxx
