As part of our community cohesion project, Herringthorpe Juniors and Wales Primary have done some linking work together in the classroom. This resulted in a day spent at Winterhill CLC, in Kimberworth, where the children collaborated with each other working on a variety of ICT and drama activities based around a poem called Equal, Equal.

The drama included getting together in mixed groups of 6 children to act out a verse from the poem Equal, Equal. The children loved this and it gave both schools an opportunity to get to know one another.
Upon visiting the ICT suite the children were over awed by the amount of Apple Mac books available to use! (Tech Heaven!) They learned how to create their very own comic strip using comic life on the Apple mac’s and iPad’s. They also learned how to take their own individual photos using photo booth and then transfer their images onto a separate page.
To finish off, an already exciting day, the children had a dance off at the end between groups 1-5 and 6-9 to see who would gain the most points!
