Snickelways of York

We followed the book by Mark W. Jones for a fantastic inset day in York.

Aims of the day

  • To develop collaborative working practices
  • To raise awareness of child-centered learning
  • To use the environment to develop the cross-curricular creative curriculum
  • To use ICT to enhance learning opportunities

Our aims for the day were to visit York with a view to improving teaching and learning for our children.  We wanted to explore outdoor learning within our curriculum by incorporating the use of ICT.  To do this we used iPads and a selected number of apps for CPD.  The apps we used were Glympse, an app which uses GPS to track your movements and allow you to share them with the entire group, WordPress, an app which allowed us to update this blog while we were out using 3G internet, and Google Maps, which we used to find our way to the starting points.

Take a look at what we created while on the move.
