Eyam (The Plague Village)

Eyam Screen Shot

Wednesday the 23rd of October 2013 was the day our Year 4’s and some of our Y5’s visited the historical village of Eyam in Derbyshire.

This educational trip was organised to enhance the children’s learning as part of their topic work that they have been covering in their classrooms since the beginning of the term.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day, it gave them the chance to imagine just what life was like for the victims of the dreadful plague back in 1665-1666.

From St Lawrence Church, to the burial site of the Riley graves, the children had the opportunity to explore the history of this famous Derbyshire Village.

Please watch the video clip below of our educational day out.
