Crazy capacities in Y3B!

This week in Numeracy, we have been learning about how to measure liquid accurately. We looked at how to read scales accurately before moving onto estimating the amount of liquid that could be held in different sized bottles. Did you know that our water bottles hold 250ml of water and that when you have a bath you use roughly 50L? We linked this to geography learning about sustainability and how we could prevent water wasting.

We finished off the week with an exciting water challenge on the playground! The team with the biggest water capacity in their bucket was the winner!! We calculated how many millilitres and litres and each group transported as well as how much more water it would take the fill the buckets. It turned out to a great PE lesson too, as we we’re all incredibly sweaty, even Miss Brewin!!
