Our focus today in science was to find out if certain materials were soluble or insoluble.
Class Y4/5G were set a bit of a challenge! Presented to them were 10 boxes labelled with just A,B,C… etc written on them. They had to guess and predict, using their senses, what the materials might be inside the box…
The children loved this idea and were soon well on their way to predicting the correct material using the sense of touch and smell! They then had to immerse the mysterious contents into separate beakers of water to see if they would dissolve or not.
Towards the end of the lesson the materials were revealed to the class, with the majority of them correctly predicting both the mysterious contents and whether they would be classed as soluble or insoluble.
