Premier League Reading Stars is a special reading intervention programme backed by the National Literacy Trust. The overarching aim is to help pupils develop the habit of reading widely and often, for both pleasure and information. To help them acquire a wide vocabulary, an understanding of grammar and to use discussions to elaborate and explain clearly their understanding of the written word.

This is achieved through a much loved theme… Football, along with incentives and rewards! Certain children from Y5 & Y6 have already started this intervention and are thoroughly enjoying it, completing their training logs, completing extra reading, doing log book tasks and this is just in their own time!

Backed by many Premier League Football players, the intervention is having a positive effect on our children, and giving them a strong incentive to read and, more importantly, to WANT to read!
