In year 3 we decided to create a salt dough tea light holder for a dual purpose. As it has recently been Diwali and with Christmas coming up, we learnt that light is an important part of both celebrations. We made a Diva lamp using just flour, water and lots of salt!! After that, we carefully moulded the shape so it would fit a small tea light inside. Then we pressed repeating patterns of sequins into it. We learnt that the lamps must contain bright colours so tried to incorporate this too. After they baked in the oven all day (yes ALL day!) we let them cool before painting them.
