Year 3 – Woolly Mammoth P4C!!

To link with our new history topic of Stone, Bronze and Iron Age we decided to start with a very important time during the first part of the Stone Age…the Ice Age!!! We read a lovely book called Woolly about a mammoth who was born bald so she wasn’t woolly at all!!! Her mum tried to help her fit in with all of the other animals by covering her with a stripy tea towel and feathers but in the end she just needed to be patient a call her thick fur soon grew! The discussion went in many directions but our initial question was ‘Is it ok to be different?

What do you think? Please leave a comment!!

  1. Cleo told me all about the story of the woolly mammoth. She obviously took in the meaning of the story and that it is acceptable to be different. A very good lesson to learn
