Making our very own water cycle!

This week, Year 4 have been learning about the water cycle. We have learnt about the different stages and how this process repeats itself which is why it is called the water cycle! Today, we created our very own water cycle to see first hand what happens when the cycle is in action! Using a large transparent bowl, we poured in boiling hot water which acted as the ocean. Then we placed a smaller bowl inside which became our land. After that, we covered the bowls with cling film which acted as the clouds in our experiment. We then waited for 30 minutes to see what happened! We noticed lots of condensation gathering on our clouds and our small bowl (the land) was filled with water meaning that precipitation had occurred! Amazing!
