This week we have celebrated our first book week of the year and what a busy week it has been.
From the excitement of No Pens Day Wednesday helping us to develop our speaking and listening skills, to the creation of our own class books based on Ricky Gervais’ ‘Flanimals’, we have been using reading and using books to support our learning.
And if this wasn’t enough, we celebrated National Poetry Day on October 8th, each class created their own poems using many many skills such as rhyme, drama, similes, metaphors and personification, and we heard such wonderful recitals of acrostics, kennings, and incredible performance poetry.
