Day 2 at Wentworth Castle Gardens

Tuesday 20th October 2015

Today, Mrs Robert’s class and half of Miss Brewin’s class went on their first Year 3 Educational trip to Wentworth Castle Gardens. The children were so excited and eager to learn!

Upon arrival at Wentworth we were greeted with the very special sight of a herd of deer grazing underneath a pear tree waiting for the fruit to fall. The children were very much in awe of the beautiful, but very shy, animals! Our guide, Peter, said we were very lucky to see them so near!

The day continued to be full of lovely surprises, ranging from identifying different plants around the world in the conservatory. To finding and identifying lots of different trees in the beautiful surroundings. The children had fun in the secret garden labelling all the different parts of a plant too!

Towards the end of our day the children walked up to the castle, gathering lots of sticks, leaves, twigs, conkers, acorns and many other natural materials to make an amazing combined work of art!

Have a look at some of our photos to see if you can recognise what image we made!!
