To finish our fabulous WWII topic, Y6G decided to combine their art skills with their writing learning to create these wonderful sketchbook poems!
The children started by drafting their own cinquain or haiku poem – carefully selecting vocabulary to create a powerful image in the reader’s mind, while also taking care to follow the syllable patterns. They then used their pen and ink skills to create this powerful image, as well as to write their poem – which isn’t as easy as they’ve made it look! Once these were dry, the children added watercolour to finish.
Take a look at their finished pieces …
Well done Y6G!
