Parachutes

As part of our rocket car project, Y6E have been investigating air resistance. The pupils planned a fair test investigating whether the surface area of the parachute would affect the speed which it dropped. The children had to be excellent scientists to design a parachute which would work efficiently and had to make decisions about what they would use as a weight. Finally, they had to apply their fantastic maths skills to calculate the surface area of their parachutes and the mean speed.  Excellent team work Y6E.            Mrs Evans
