STEM Tower Challenge

Year 6 were given an exciting challenge this week.

“We had to build the tallest and strongest tower we could out of 20 paper straws, 10 paperclips and 1m of masking tape.”

“We learnt that triangular shapes are stronger than square shapes. Triangles and pyramids can hold more weight than squares or cubes.”

Some designs were able to hold more than 700g over 30cm off the floor. That’s some incredible engineering.
