We’ve had a wonderful week celebrating Chinese New Year. We have explored the Chinese zodiac signs, practised some Chinese calligraphy and discovered how this special time of year is marked and celebrated in China.

We thoroughly enjoyed our call with our friends at Tanghu Elementary School. They shared the meaning of Chinese New Year, their traditions and also taught us som Chinese.

Members of Y5C shared how they celebrate Chinese new year. The boys spoke about their experiences, showed the class how to write in mandarin and spoke about the importance of the lion dance. 

They also did an amazing job of answering questions from the rest of the class. Well done boys!
