Mrs Forshaw, our Academy Pastoral Manager is available at the office to answer or to help with any problems or queries you may have.
Your Pastoral Team
All Willow Tree Academy School’s have a Pastoral team to support children and
their families. The Pastoral Team also lead on safeguarding. A member of the
team will try to be available at all times. If they are not your contact details will be
passed on and they will get back to you as soon as they can. It is our aim to
support our children in all areas of development. We aspire to send well rounded,
articulate young people on to their secondary placement.
We work closely with Social Care and Early Help. There may be times when a
child tells staff something that is of concern and we may need to seek
support/advice from Social Care or Early Help. The focus of this multi agency
work is to offer strategies to support the family and, wherever possible, to keep
families on track and together.
The Pastoral team and the SENCO (special educational needs co-ordinator) work
closely together to seek the best outcomes for our children who have any
additional needs. If you can’t get to speak to the SENCO, as they are often
teaching in class, ask to speak to the Pastoral Team. They may be able to help
but if not they can pass on your query/information.
Our Pastoral Team also forms our Mental health and wellbeing team. If you have
any worries about your child with regard to anxiety, eating, sleeping, new
behaviours please call us or let your child’s class teacher know your concerns.
There may be strategies that we can share with you or we may be able to refer
to other more specialised partners. The School Nurse can offer a wealth of
information and support you to access medical services. If you are concerned
about one of your children or you are worried about being able to cope in certain
situations, please contact us. We may be able to offer support ourselves or put
you in touch with people/agencies who can. Early intervention will have the best
outcomes so please feel confident to seek help.
