The children were asked to estimate and record the ingredients list to make Rocky Road squares. The children were already given the ingredients weighed out allowing them to estimate and then weigh to check their answers and then calculate the difference. As you can see the children not only learnt how to use scales, measure accurately but also solved word problems. Finding out how much would be needed to make enough to cater for 20 people by doubling, 30 people by multiplying by 3 and also halving to find out how much would be needed to make them for 5 people.
All the year group thoroughly enjoyed the lesson!
